I regret to announce that Ridgefield High School Principal Jeff Jaslow will retire at the end of the school year. Mr. Jaslow informed the RHS faculty about his decision this afternoon. Mr. Jaslow has worked at RHS for 36 years beginning as a Biology teacher in 1976. Fifteen years later in 1991, he became a teaching Assistant Principal, teaching two science classes while also serving as an administrator. He became a full-time Assistant Principal in 2003. In August, 2006, Mr. Jaslow was appointed Interim Principal and in February, 2007, was named Principal of RHS. As Principal, Mr. Jaslow led a smooth transition period to his leadership for the building. In addition, he oversaw the recent successful NEAS&C accreditation report and review process. During the past three years, Mr. Jaslow led the development and implementation of the new advisor program and revised daily schedule. Mr. Jaslow also oversaw the development of several new courses at the high school. Most recently, Mr. Jaslow developed the proposals for new graduation and course load requirements. Mr. Jaslow’s long history, professional expertise, total dedication, and skilled leadership have contributed immeasurably to the outstanding reputation of Ridgefield High School. His retirement will be a loss for RHS students, families, and staff, but we wish him well on his future plans. The district will conduct a comprehensive search process to replace Mr. Jaslow. The process will begin soon.
