A note from Christina B. Nolan, Ridgefield Library Director, and Philip Lodewick, Campaign for the New Library:
The re-cap of the January 18th Board of Selectmen meeting includes the fact that there was a unanimous vote taken by the selectmen to authorize a $5m referendum. The date of the referendum has not yet been set.
Once again, hats off to our many supporters who filled the room. Several spoke on our behalf, making excellent points. Your presence at these meetings is critical in having the elected officials understand just how important this is to our town.
For those of you who weren't with us on Wednesday evening, you can see the floor plans of the new building at www.thenewridgefieldlibrary.org. At the presentation, the floor plans had an animation that made it very easy to see all the areas in relation to one another. The floor plans on the website above will be animated if they aren't already. Take a look---we believe you will be excited at what you see.
We held additional sessions last week to help more get acquainted with what's planned. Some of our littlest users want the following in the new library: more rocking chairs (this from a set of under 5 twins), an aquarium, more horse books and apple pie!
Our doors are always open! Schedule a time to learn more & see the plans. Bring a friend. Contact
