Please dine with family and friends at TerraSole Ristorante, Ridgefield, on Thursday, October 27, 2011 between 7pm and 9:30pm to help support the Ridgefield Prevention Council’s ongoing education and awareness campaign for a safe and healthy Ridgefield.

Owners Lana and Pietro Polini have generously agreed to donate 10% of dinner proceeds to the RPC. Donation Jars will also be vailable to the public with 100% of those funds collected benefitting The Ridgefield Prevention Council.

Consider the following:
· This year, 10,839 people will die in drunk-driving crashes - one every 50 minutes. (NHTSA, 2009)
· One in three 8th graders drinks alcohol. (NHTSA, 2009)
· One in three will be involved in an alcohol-related crash in their lifetime. (NHTSA, 2001; NHTSA FARS data)
· Every minute, one person is injured from an alcohol-related crash.(Blincoe, et al, 2002; Miller et al, 1998)
· One in five teens binge drink. Only 1 in 100 parents believes his or her teen binge drinks. (Institute of Medicine, 2003)
· Teen alcohol use kills about 6000 people each year, more than all illegal drugs combined. (Hingson and Kenkel, 2003)
· Car crashes are the leading cause of death for teens and one out of three of those is alcohol related. (NHTSA, 2009)
· Kids who start drinking young are seven times more likely to be in an alcohol-related crash. (Hingson, 2001)
