On Tuesday, July 5th, at 7 pm in Ballard Park, Hot Club of Cowtown will be performing as part of the Concert Happenings in Ridgefield Parks (C.H.I.R.P.).

Since their first recording in 1998, Austin-based Hot Club of Cowtown have grown to be the most globe-trotting, hardest-swinging Western swing trio on the planet. The first American band to tour Azerbaijan, they have opened stadiums for such artists as Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson and continue to bring their brand of western swing to a wide range of festival audiences all over the world. But for guitarist Whit Smith, fiddler Elana James and bassist Jake Erwin, it has always been about staying true to their roots.

This concert is co-underwritten by Bob & Loire Leavitt.
C.H.I.R.P. was begun in the summer of 2002 to foster a stronger sense of community among residents and to enhance Ridgefield's much treasured 'small town feel.' Its concerts seek to bring townspeople together in a relaxed atmosphere comfortable for people of every economic strata, age bracket and ethnicity. Its mission is to afford them the opportunity to hear and hopefully to enjoy a variety of world and alternative music only infrequently performed in this area.
