The Westport Arts Center, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, is seeking individuals with memories of the organization in its earlier years. With support from its board of directors and founding members, the Arts Center is in the process of filming a documentary film chronicling its history, particularly during the early 1980s and mid 1990s when the organization occupied the Greens Farms School on Morningside Drive.
If you have resided in the Fairfield County area since the 1970s or 1980s and can provide an account of the role the arts played in the community during this time, the Westport Arts Center would love to include your memories in the film, which will begin production this summer. The organization is also interested in any earlier memories of the history of the arts in Westport. Interested candidates must be comfortable sharing their stories on camera and appearing in the final documentary, which will be a part of the permanent Westport Arts Center Archive Collection.
If you have memories regarding the Arts Center’s history or how Westport identified as “an artist’s colony,” please contact WAC Marketing Fellow Katie Hacala at (203) 222-7070 ext.114 or email her at This email address is being protected from spambots.
