It's Fall and that means it's corn maze time--fun for the whole family!   Plasko's Farm is a family-owned and operated farm located in Trumbull, Connecticut.  Every year, Plasko's puts together an amazing corn maze that attracts more than 10,000 visitors a year!  Each year, the maze is cut and designed into four acres of 10-foot high  corn.  The result is 1.5 miles of complicated , twisting turns and paths.  But don't worry, if you get lost, there are "corn cops" available to set you on the right path and there are "escape hatches" for little ones to exit if they get weary.  This year's maze is entitled "Shoot Upon a Star" and contains lots of switchbacks, star shapes and tricky pathways.  Plasko's corn maze is open until Oct. 31st and hours are Fridays from 3:00pm-5:00pm and Saturday-Sunday from  9:00am-6:00pm.  Reservations are required for weekday visits only by calling Plasko's at 203-268-2716 or by emailing the farm at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .  Tickets are $7 (ages 13 and up) and $6 for children (toddlers are free).  For every ticket sold, Plasko's donates $1 to Swim Across the Sound, sponsored by St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation, which underwrites cancer education, screening, and prevention programs.

Another great corn maze is located at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, Connecticut.  Open until Oct. 30th, this corn maze design celebrates the patriotism of America.  The maze at Lyman Orchards is set on four acres, with about 2 miles of winding pathways.  The maze was designed by Brett Herbst, renowned corn maze designer.  There are "corn cops." maps, and passports to give you clues along the way, and $1 from each admission ticket benefits the American Cancer Society.  The maze at Lyman Orchards is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:00pm-6:00pm and Saturday/Sunday from 10:00am-6:00pm.  Tickets are $5 for children ages 4-12 and $10 for ages 13 and up (children 3 and under are free).  For more information, call Lyman Orchards at 860-349-6058.

Can't get enough mazes?  There are more wonderful mazes at Castle Hill Farm in Newtown, CT;  March Farm in Bethlehem, CT, Bishops Orchards in Guilford, CT,  Foster Family Farm in South Windsor, CT, and Elsworth Hill Orchard in Sharon, CT.

Happy mazing!
