Going Skiing? Here are Mountains Close to Home

Something definitely happens when you arrive at a ski mountain.  Sort of like a catharsis; a renewal of mind and body.  Perhaps the lofty, white mountains and long, snow covered trails help to put the complexities of life in perspective.  Maybe it’s the anticipation of the challenge that awaits or the ambiance that comes after a long, cold day on the slopes when you’re surrounded by your family, sipping a glass of Cabernet by the fire.
Carving out time to be together is kind of like carving your skies into the soft powder and leaving tracks in the snow, however; you'll be carving tradition, values and memories that will last a life time.  While it's the mountain that may beckon you, the weekend sojourn to a confined domain with those you love will sustain you.  Unstructured time to laugh, play, and share meals is not easy to come by in a society of cell phones, email and text messages.  It seems we can't hide.  Perhaps you should just try to escape even if only for a weekend.  You'll be glad you did.
Below are some resorts that  are not far from Greenwich.
