The Easton Arts Council hosts an exhibit at the Easton Public Library of works by Lisa Oswald, a monotype artist whose work portrays the figure in diverse ways with a modern twist. She reinvents traditional images to reflect the world as she sees it, using texture and color to evoke mood and feeling. Lisa lives in Hastings-On-Hudson, NY, with her husband, Frank. She always imagined herself as an artist and after experimenting with various mediums over the years, she finally found her love—making monotypes. Through the monotype process, she discovered a way to channel her spirit, and relishes its spontaneity and the resulting freedom of self-expression. She learned printmaking at the Contemporary Artists Center in North Adams, Mass., and furthered her studies at The Creative Arts Workshop and Center For Contemporary Printmaking in Connecticut, the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy and the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. Lisa is a member of the Monotype Guild of New England, Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Westport Arts Center and Women’s Caucus For Art. For library hours see the Easton Public Library website.
