Fairfeld Town Hall Public Info Session on UI Monopoles Plan, April 30, 7:30pm

Fairfield, CT - There will be a Fairfield Town Hall Public Information Session on the United Illuminating power lines plan on Tuesday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Roger Ludlowe Middle School.

The grassroots non-profit Empowering Fairfield and other cultural, historical and religious groups, along with members of local government, will be communicating to the public about the Connecticut Siting Council’s February decision to move UI’s transmission line project to the north side of the railroad tracks in Southport, Fairfield and Bridgeport.

Legislation aimed at reforming the way the Siting Council operates will be voted on in Hartford in early May.

Last month the Town of Fairfield and, separately, a diverse group of intervenors both filed an appeal against the Siting Council in Superior Court. The following week, the City of Bridgeport filed its own lawsuit.

More background on the upcoming information session is contained in the attached flyer.
